Black and Tan
Le Leone is pleased to have one of the newest colors recognized in Shih Tzu...black and tan....sometimes refered to as "dobie" marked. They are not that common at this point, but are gaining in popularity. We have decided to add this color to our breeding program.
Our beautiful boy was picked for his classic Shih Tzu features...nice wide, flat face and expressive eyes. He has a nice silky coat, a short cobby body, and perfect "dobie" markings. He is Imperial sized. His dam is also a black and tan, and his litter brother was as well. He very clearly will carry the black and tan gene.
*Update* Our special little stud has produced litters this year that included more black and tan pups, as well as very nice surprise...chocolate and tan, and one little tri-colored dobie pup. These special little girls will remain here as additions to our "dobie" marked program. You can see them on this page.

Below is his daughter, Kimora Lee, born on New Year's Day, 2009. She was the first puppy of the year for us here at Le Leone, and for the CIDCA club. She has her father's perfect black and tan markings. She is Imperial sized.
This is Kachina, another daughter. She also has the perfect black and tan markings of her sire.
This is his newest daughter... Kymber Lynn. She also is the perfect example of a "dobie" marked pup in black and tan.
This little beauty is our new chocolate and tan girl, out of our black and tan sire. Very unique. Her name is Kylie Ann. She has the distinct "dobie" markings, but in chocolate and tan color, with a chocolate nose and green eyes. She is pictured below with her littermate, Kachina.
This little pup may be "tri colored dobie" marked. It has the tan patches on it's cheeks and eyebrows. We will know more when it is older.
